Oldest marine reserves in the world
Bonaire has one of the oldest marine reserves in the world. The park was established in 1979 and further received the status of national park in 1999, making us a worldwide example of successful nature conservation. The marine protected area has continued to evolve into one of the healthiest and most biodiverse coral reefs in the Caribbean. With 60+ dive sites, Bonaire is known as Diver’s Paradise. The island enjoys a tropical climate with conditions that provide the perfect opportunity for divers and snorkelers to enjoy the wonders of its marine environment with more than 350 species of fish and 60 species of coral.
