Beyond The Corals strives to be the leading ECO dive center on Bonaire, driven by our commitment to sustainability and marine conservation.
We are AWARE of our role in helping the environment and take the responsibility to educate and communicate about nature conservation and how you as a diver can be a marine ambassador as well.
For more than 30 years, PADI and AWARE have united to protect the underwater world and have set ambitious ocean conservation targets including taking action against climate change, creating marine protected areas, and protecting vulnerable species.
PADI AWARE’s goals include:
- Reducing marine debris by 50% in targeted countries through partnerships and PADI AWARE’s Community Grant Program.
- Reducing the number of sharks and ray species threatened with extinction by 25%.
- Achieving carbon neutrality across the PADI organization and funding seagrass and mangrove habitats to offset carbon.
- Restoring 5% of coral reef habitats through citizen science programs and project funding.
- Protecting 30% of the ocean by 2030 through partnership collaboration and Adopt The Blue.
Green Fins Members protect and conserve coral reefs by following environmental guidelines that promote a sustainable diving and snorkeling industry. By diving with Beyond The Corals, you help safeguard Bonaire as a sustainable diving operation for many generations to come. Our dive center prioritizes the long-term health of marine ecosystems by promoting and applying sustainable reef-based practices.

The PADI ECO Center recognition is awarded to PADI dive centers and resorts committed to conservation and sustainability within the diving industry. PADI Eco Centers provide a trustworthy option for all ocean enthusiasts who want to ensure that the thrill of their marine adventures goes hand in hand with the protection and restoration of natural resources, as well as the well-being of local communities.
The Beyond the Corals crew has received indepth training from the STINAPA Reef Rangers, about our local environment and the Bonaire National Marine Park in which we operate. We follow the STINAPA rules and regulations to maintain our beautiful nature.

Beyond the Corals was awarded with the PADI Green Star Award. It is granted to PADI Dive Centers and Resorts that demonstrate a dedication to conservation across a wide range of business functions, including water conservation, energy use, environmentally friendly transportation practices, use of sustainable materials, conservation leadership and a donation to conservation through Project AWARE. The Award identifies dive businesses that care about the environment and are acting to protect it.
